For those diving deep into an all-encompassing yoga career, it’s important to find the right expression of how you will serve in the world. For that reason, we offer three distinct paths: Yoga Therapy, Yoga Studio, and Healing Arts Practitioner. All students begin with the Amrit I AM Posture of Consciousness class and 90 hours of the Amrit I AM Mediation in Motion coursework. From there, students branch off and complete those courses designed for your chosen Yogic path. The 100-hour therapeutic specialty interweaves layers of powerful holistic modalities, such as Polarity, Reiki, Health and Wellness Coach, Yoga Nidra, Reflexology, or Aromatherapy, with ancient Yogic philosophy, all to enhance the yoga teacher’s tool kit. Those on the Yoga Therapy 800-Hour path must take only yoga courses.
Yoga Studio Teacher/Practitioner – The Yoga Studio track is a great match for students who envision themselves as primarily teaching studio classes. Students can customize their area of focuses based on which electives and program they choose. Courses in this track include:
Yoga Therapy – This program is a great match for those who are prepared to hold a deep and sacred therapeutic space for individuals and groups. Unlike the studio track, students on this path will take the full Meditation in Motion, Yoga Nidra, and Yoga Body Psychology as part of their program. If students choose to pursue certification with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, students will need to complete additional documented outside sessions. Courses in this track include:
Advanced Yoga Nidra Yoga Body Psychology Transformational Yoga Coaching Integral Breath Therapy Yogic Somatic Psychology and Assessment Foundations of Ayurveda Physiology and Health Conditions for Yoga Therapists Putting it All Together Yoga Therapy Final Practicum.

The Amrit Method of Yoga Body Psychology is designed to treat visible physical symptoms and the invisible mental and emotional blocks that contribute to them. Using gravity supported, static poses held by the facilitator, or with the use of the wall or props, you will learn how to surface and release blockages held in the body. Enhance your understanding of the energetic aspects of yoga and how to use it for yourself and others as one of the most profound healing modalities you will ever encounter. (Hear what Kamini Desai shares about Body Psychology )
SWIHA’s Yoga Nidra program will teach you an ancient yoga practice that is becoming immensely popular in the West. Yoga Nidra brings the body and mind to a deeply relaxed state in order to access healing, stress-release and well-being. This practice powerfully and holistically helps your clients with physical, neurological and subliminal needs. Learn from world-renowned instructor Kamini Desai, who incorporates Western psychology with Eastern Philosophy to bring you this sought-after therapy.
Meditation in Motion transforms the practice of yoga into a yogic way of life and an energetic expression. This advanced training builds on Amrit Yoga’s I AM Yoga™ Teacher Training Posture of Consciousness format and focuses on moving from the willful practice of postures to a dynamic blend of intentional poses and intuitive movement. Structured as a personal spiritual practice that recognizes Patanjali’s description of yoga and its outcome as “Witnessing the mental modifications in the mind, this specialty option cultivates an inner attunement in order to move from physical yoga in to energy yoga.
